The problem with New York city drivers is that every one is in such a hurry. with the amount of people that they have in the streets no one wants to let some one pass so every one pretty much forces them selves in. thats where the problem starts.
Road rage is very big in city's like NY where you have millions of people, that is another reason that people get mad and loose their concentration because they are too busy giving the guy that cut them off the finger and yelling at them. Most of the time people just don't take the time to allow some one to pass so that it can prevent a traffic jam.
yellow cabs have some of the most horrible drivers in NY. they are in such a hurry to drop off the customer that they speed, cut people off, don't stop for signs or red lights and many other crazy things (I'm sure if you live in NY you have seen many many crazy stuff)
Parking is another major thing, there is just not enough room for all the cars any more. If you don't have a garage your car will pay for it, I'm sure every one that lives in NY has came out just to find
1. Your mirror was hit
2. Your rear or front bumper was hit
3. you opened your door and some dumb kit speeding nearly took your door off
4. the plow truck came by and took almost every mirror on the block
