Who is to blame after water-drinking contest fatality? 1/16/07

Who is to blame. A radio station promoting such a crazy contest anyway, or a person that would think drinking water could win her kid's a Nintendo? Let's first look at the woman. I know drinking too much alcohol could be fatal. Me personally, I never knew water could kill you, I didn't know this. Am I stupid? Ignorant? When I presented this tory to my cousin the first thing she said was any sport's nut knows drinking too much water can be lethal. I was never into sports. So I guess that's why they drink Gatorade. If I didn't know this, are there other people that don't either? Hard to say. But one thing we should no for sure is that the radio station promoting this contest should have known.

People will do anything for money. That's just the way it is. Has any one ever seen the television show "Fear Factor.?" This show should epitomize the fact that a person will do anything for money and I would think eating cheese filled with maggots would definitely be more more unhealthy. Not to mention all the crazy these things people do, crawl across a pipe 150 feet up in the air. If someone dies on this show who is to blame? But they were warned, their greedy. They want money, so they deserve to die for it.

It is more than obvious people will do anything for money. People become Police Officer's. And when they decide to pursue a teenager that does not have the common sense to pull over and they are as high as a kite on adrenaline and inadvertently kill someone innocent as a result of this chase, who is to blame? And they don't even say they are sorry to all the people that got hit by some nut who does not want to pull over. Bonnie and Clyde days are over. There are alternatives.

The Cop is the one with the badge, the Cop is suppose to be the one with the clear head and think clear. We cannot expect people to think clear, In a situation where an organization is involved, there are more people. And this is human nature kicking in, not greed, but power and power that will leave innocent people dead. And Cops love power, and people like to be greedy. So what. Should someone die over this?

SO I think it is the radio station's fault, period. They are the one's that must carry themselves responsible for what they are doing. I am sure it was not the brainchild of just on person, there had to be more people involved in that choice to run that contest. The woman that drank that water was ONE person. SHe wanted a game for her kid's, not a year's supply of gasoline. If they did not think there was a danger why did they have to have a signature. A nurse even called them and told them not to do it. I drink water like crazy everyday and had no idea it could kill me. I went to college, I consider myself to be somewhat smart. I did not know this. Stupid me. And I really wonder how many other people actually knew this also. The radio station did that is a for sure, so why do it? To boost controversary for Corporate and adtvertising greed?
