The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
I am a Christian, and although I am a firm believer in God, I can be silent and listen to opposing views on religion. Richard Dawkins comes across in this work as just another angry atheist. The single connecting thread that I have found in all atheists that I have encountered is a strange anger that has no basis. No rhyme or reason, just a lot of hate and anger.
Dawkins spends so much time just bashing any and all religion that it becomes tiresome, and I got the feeling that I have heard it all before. The most disturbing parts of Dawkin's strange work to me was the belittlement of parents rights to raise their children within a religious atmosphere.
He also goes on in length about specific religions and ideas that he has little or no knowledge of. Atheist have a way of alienating people, this is a book that preaches to the choir. If you agree with Dawkins you will embrace this work. If you truly think for yourself, you will probably say "I've heard it all before."
