Alright, now your laptop is out of date, messed up, or you're just plain tired of it. Now it's time to let it go and search for the next computer that you'll end spending hours writing upon. But the question is, which one is right?
Alright, here a couple basic things to get us started:
1) Check for any defects or missing parts, and be sure it's working properly first and foremost.
2) Check and see if the computer speculations are right for you. (Is the video, sound, RAM, Internet cards up to date? Is the Pentium 4 processor or above for high speeds? Is the hard-drive large and fast enough to suit your needs?)
3) Now look at it. Would this fit your style, your way of typing. Would it boost inspiration? If it doesn't have that WOW factor, then normally I wouldn't suggest buying it.
4) The price, is it within your budget? Could you get the exact or close to same thing anywhere else? Is it overpriced? Or too low to seem true? If a decent computer is at an unbelievable price, check the background and search for more information upon it.
5) The Operating System (OS) should be up to date.
Now, more specific details you should find out upon:
1) What defense does it have against the intrusive invaders trying to probe through your computer, steal your identity, and turn your life into a living Hell? The laptop should have up to date spyware (Download Search and Destroy free online), firewall, anti-virus, and something similar to Norton SystemWorks which can clean your computer and search for hidden errors you wouldn't normally find manually without loads of searching.
2) Look for a computer with satellite or blue-tooth technology, to make gaining access to the Internet a breeze.
3) Word processing, is the software for word processing up to date and fits your needs? If you don't, I suggest either searching for a different laptop preinstalled with MS Word or Word Perfect, or go out and buy the software, or obtain OpenOffice.org for free at www.openoffice.org.
KC Computers is normally a good place to go to for new and used computer and computer components to suit your needs. (www.kc-computers.com)
This should be all you need to get the laptop you want.
