Best cities in the world

Sure, everyone knows about New York, London, Paris, Bombay, Buenos Aires, Toyko, L.A., Rome, and Moscow (whew - say that in one breath), but what about the little towns that aren't known internationally?

I submit to you, my list of the Best Cities in the World (that you haven't heard of).

- Austin, TX -

Of all the places in Texas, Austin hosts one of the largest communities of musicians. Take a stroll across one of the main beautiful bridges. Eat a gigantic steak in one of the many restaurants. Watch the bats as they emerge from under the bridge at nightfall.

Austin is one of the most beautiful, novel and thrilling places in America, visit it if you have a chance.

- Prague, CZ -

Prague will take you to a different side of Europe. While most people spend their Euros in Paris or Madrid, Prague offers something a bit wilder and exotic. Walk over the St. Charles Bridge. Visit some of the post-communist architecture. See Franz Kafka's house. Visit the Mozart museum. Watch Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on Imax.

Prague is home to a unique and under-appreciated culture; once you visit, you'll want to visit again.

- Puerto Pinasco, MX -

Although Puerto Pinasco (aka, Rocky Point) is also notorious for its wild college parties, it also has a wonderful beach area, and is home to an oceanographic institute. You can see dolphins in the bay during the spring. Eat mariscos while watching the sun set.

Puerto Pinasco is one of the most exciting, out of the way places in Mexico.

- Kuwait City, Kuwait -

Kuwait City is home to some of the most outrageous shopping you will find on earth. In some parts of the city, you can find unique bazaars and a thriving economy of Kuwaitis. If you have the cash, it's a glorious mega-mall experience. You can also find a wonderful beach to suntan, or play volley-ball or frisbee.

When you visit Kuwait City, go there for the charm of the people and culture, not just the shopping.

- Beirut, Lebanon -

Although sometimes dangerous, Beirut has its own charms. The cultures of the Ottomans, Persians, Greeks, and native Lebanese thrive there. Eat real middle-eastern falafel in the open-air restaurants. If you're feeling hot, take a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Or, if you want to be trendy, take a stroll in Gemmayzih, the current hotspot of Beirut.

Beirut is a great place to visit, with great people, and a rich, diverse culture.
