TV show reviews: Deadwood

HBO's Deadwood started out as a kick ass, down and dirty, mean and nasty as tv would go. Even though its cable, it still never got as nasty as it really was. And it drew us in with all its nastiness, but. As the subjects became more likable, they became more subdued and out of character. And then the nasty that drew us in isn't there so much anymore. And when all these backwoods people start speaking like English Lords, well its no wonder its loosing its charm. Now I know a lot of people spoke like that in them old days, but that isn't the way the whole thing started out. And I know everybody these days like to be politically correct, but the gay stuff has to go. It would be more believable if there were people having sex with animals than the gay stuff. We have all heard those stories about a man and his horse, sheep, cows, whatever. But never one like they got going with Jane, not in the old wild west. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but its not something wild west lovers ever heard nor believed. If they really wanted to up the ratings they should have got more real, more so than even the first season. Because what I heard about the real Deadwood makes all them characters seem more like church people, especially as it progresses. The Sopranos, same problem.
