passed and how they take effect in changing the balance of power in Washington. The patriot act is simply an example of the GOPs abuse in legislative power. Abuses of the executive power are and have been evident since Bush's presidency began, yet what has not been, until recently, has been the administrations abuse of judicial power. The Bush administration has been using federal prosecutors to investigate Democrats. This in itself is okay, as parties have to act as watchdogs against each other. However, the ratio of Republican to Democratic investigations have been ridiculously high, three Democrat investigations to every Republican. Funny, as it seems the GOP has had the most scrutiny under the media for their abuse of power. Furthermore, we have finally drawn attention to the firing of eight federal prosecutors. Why were they fired?Look it up and you'll find no evidence of incompetence, corruption, or anything related to them not doing their job. What you will find is everyone of those prosecutors either:
A) Refused to investigate certain people of the Democratic Party
-or-
B) Attempted to investigate certain people of the Republican Party
The current administration has obviously got a foothold in the power of the American government and are using federal prosecutors as Hitler used the SS in Nazi Germany: to destroy the opposing political parties and obtain absolute control of a once democratic state. We as an American people turn our heads and continue our daily lives, as our system of checks and balances, even more our freedom, is derailed by our own fear. The facts are out there, yet the question remains: When will the American people become competent enough to make money AND take an interest in their own politics? The world waits anxiously, as we wait ignorantly, in the land of the ignorance induced democratic dictatorship.
