The TAN Act: Spreading awareness of tanning salon health risks

It is a fact that humans have evolved over thousands of years. It takes a long time for the world to change, so our bodies do the same. Where the sun is most dominant, darker skin occurs, and the opposite is also true(taking into account that immigration has slightly mixed the two together). UV rays are damaging to the skin, although you cannot see what happens with the naked eye there is machinery that will expose the extremity of damage. If you are aware of what age spots look like on the hands, imagine that all over a sun worshipers body, and multiply by ten. Although you cant see this it is still there, and can also increase the risk of skin cancer, especially where there is a family history.

I am not in any way dis-respecting the choices of those who love to toast under a sun bed or on the beach, but personally I would rather have a safe and healthy spray tan, or remain my lovely shade of milk bottle white. The alternatives to UV tanning are almost endless, and very few involve turning yourself an undesirable orange color whilst leaving a nasty chemical scent wherever you go.
