Sell your photos/illustrations online per download basis:
There are websites like:
Shutterstock.com
Dreamstim e.com
Bigstockphoto.com
Fotolia. com
You can register, login, upload your images and when someone buys it/downloads it, you get money, the range is anywhere from $.25cents to $1.00 on average and could be more. That might now seem like alot but if 100 people download your image and each pay $1.00 that would be $100.00. In my research I have found the artists that are making money are the ones that have alot of images for sale. Even if you only got 1 download per image at $1.00 but had 100 images up, that would be $100.00 dollars.
Check with each site separately as each site has their own policies and rate of pay.
To find more sites like these, go to your favorite search engine and search for "stock photos" or "stock images" you'll get a whole list of searches and also check the sides for example the google adsense (this is where these companies advertise and that's a good sign cause if they are advertising then people are going to the sites and buying)
If you create backgrounds/brushes or other resources for artists, try renderosity.com, 3dcommune.com, poserpros.com and runtimedna.com
These sites pay per product purchased, for example if you put your backgrounds in a pack of 10 and someone purchases that pack, you would earn money. Again, check with each site separately as each site has their own policies and rate of pay.
