Being a mother is not easy. Time and changes in the environment have made mother's roles slightly different from the past. In the past, mothers were mostly staying at home, looking after the children and the house. They were to ensure that the house was well-kept and ready to receive any unexpected visitors.
Mothers have always been known to ensure that their children is safe from dangers and they will act in order to protect their children. Some have known to kill the culprits. However, that is another story.
Speaking of mothers, I cannot leave out my dear mother who has slogged herself to bring my siblings and me up. She had always given us whatever she could to us. Although she was strict at times, she never restricted us in any way except to engage in unmarital sex, drugs, alcohol and other vices.
During my growing up years before I started working, she would ensure that we had something to eat. She would worry about us being hungry if she were not at home while we were.
She didn't worry much about our grades except we had to pass all the subjects. While other mothers often scold or caned their children for not making the 90% grade, my mother never used the cane unless we were fighting over toys or failing any subject. Hence, her efforts at finding tuition teacher for all of us.
Being young meant we didn't understand our mother's efforts and hardship because she would never let us know. She never troubled us with her other worries or financial woes. It was only when I started working that she would tell me a little of the problems that we were facing.
Mothers are exceptional. They will protect their children no matter what. Even when a mother abandoned her child, she would look for her child after she had come to her senses or to terms with her feelings.
