Inspiration can come from all sorts of circumstances, people and events in your life.
First and foremost God has been my greatest inspiration, all my life.
From my very earliest childhood memories of the little brick church my mother would take my brothers and I to, to just a few hours ago, listening to my friend prepare for the reading he is doing in church tomorrow...
It may sound like a pat response, but I assure you it's not. There have been many times in my life when Jesus was my only friend. I have strength and hope and faith and courage because of Him, and nothing else.
Life's trials, the hardest, most painful times, the times that were so devastating I didn't think I could make it through- and in the midst of those times there were bits of inspiration, like threads of hope to grasp onto, that have stayed with me, and made me stronger, made me more compassionate, more thoughtful about life and my place in it.
Jay- My punk-rock, tatooed, trend-setting, liberated 20 year old, who taught me everything about courage, and love, and standing up for what you believe in. Taught me about me.
Josh- My long haired, tatooless, drumming, halo-playing 18 year old, who taught me faith and hope and patience, and acceptance.
Jordan- My 14 year old Opera singer, who's job it is (currently) to teach me everything all over again.
The "Crunkhouse kids" and all the kids I've worked with, and all the kids at the Youth Center- You have no idea how much kids can teach you. Sometimes the lessons are hard, but they will force you to learn, and to grow, and most of all, to love.
My "signicant other"- who doesn't even know how much he's taught me, or changed me, or helped me to overcome. His presence in my life has allowed me to experience a sense of calm, and a peace I have never had. His gentleness, patience, and constant presence have been such a blessing in my life.
