Teen pregnancy, who is to blame? SO many people would love to know the answer to that question. Is it the movies and shows on tv? Is it the movie stars and music artist in the news? Or maybe its the kids at school using peer pressure to get them to have sex so they can be one of the crowd.
To anyone thses might be some of the reasons but in my opinion they are not! I think that everything starts at home. You might be asking yourself what does she mean by that? Well that is what I am here to share with you.
When you first have a child you watch it grow and in the same perspective it watches you as well. When the child begins to learn right from wrong that is when the training begins. You try to teach them things like being respective, not lieing, and doing what they are asked to do. How do they learn those things? They learn by watching and listening to you. They are going to do whatever you do. Now days you have to began the birds and the bees talk at the age of seven. Be truthful to them, don't try to sugar coat anything. Tell them the risk of what might happen if they began to have sex with numbers of people. You might be saying to yourself, well a number of parents have done that and their kids are still out having sex.
Well here is an example that you can use during your next sex talk.
Take out a piece of gum and if you are talk to a girl hold it up and say this is a boy and if you are talking to a boy hold it up and say this is a girl. Put the piece of gum in your mouth and began to chew. While chewing tell them this is you have sex with them. When you say that take the piece of gum out of your mouth and offer it to them. They first thing that they are going to do and say is that is nasty, you have already chewed on it. Thats when you say it is also like having sex before marriage. You don't know how many people they have been with, it is like chewing this gum after me.
It makes you think doesn't it? I know that we can completely cure all the teen pregnancy's around here but I believe that we can help get it cute back. I just think that we need to stop sugar coating everything and let them know the truth. It is not like it use to be back in the 1950's. There are a lot more dangers out there and we need to tell them about it.
