Best movies ever

Watching movies and going to the theater has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. From the days of Darth Vader, Danny Zuko, and that lovable green dragon, Pete, I was always fascinated with the big screen; so much so that for years I wanted to be an actress and make my own movies. I gave up on that pipe dream years ago, but my fascination with movies never died.

My list of favorites is diverse, because I don't have a favorite genre. I enjoy a good mystery/thriller as much as a romantic chic flick and even enjoy several animated films.

Below are a list of my favorite movies of all time with a blurb about each one and what makes it so wonderful to me.

1. The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers- I loved the whole trilogy for its amazing set and costume design, art direction, thrilling action sequences, and amazing direction by Peter Jackson. The whole series was a fun and fascinating tale. The only reason that I rate Two Towers the best of the three, is because as much as I loved the other two, when Two Towers was over, I wanted it to immediately start over again, and that's saying a lot for a four hour movie.

2. Bridget Jones's Diary- Bridget is a fun, romantic story, much like one of my other favorites, Pride and Prejudice, on which it's based. And, it has the best romantic movie ending I have ever seen, as well as the best kiss.

3. Rent- The acting was excellent, especially Rosario Dawson's portrayal of Mimi. It was a bittersweet story and that definitely tugged the heart strings, but I loved it mainly because of the amazing music. I could not get enough of the soundtrack and after watching the movie three times in the theater and then many more times on DVD, I continued to listen to the CD for months and months.

4. The Sound of Music- This is a classic that I can watch over and over again. Romantic, funny, suspenseful, beautiful scenery, and great music. I never tire of it.

5. The Nun's Story- After I saw this movie when I was a child, I had fantasies of becoming a nun because I thought they were all glamorous like Audrey Hepburn. The Nun's Story is an underrated classic from the late 50s with Audrey as a young nun who finds a life devoted to God more of a challenge than she expected. The film had several Oscar nominations and is brilliant in writing, acting, and visually.

6. Jerry Maguire- This movie has another wonderful romantic ending, and I not only tolerated Tom Cruise in it, but I almost liked him, and that's amazing in itself. Jerry Maguire is a sports
