An aura, often seen as the life force emanating from the spirit in all living things. It is said that all have the power see this multi colored layered energy that spills forth from the chakras. Chakras are points in the body that the anatomical meridians all cross through, which are also like doors to allow energy in and out of the aura field. In a way they are very much like the channels of a cell membrane that are highly selective in order maintain a balance within the living being. Auras are considered a highly sensitive electromagnetic field that surrounds all living beings. This electromagnetic field is easily affected by other fields of energy, just like how the brain can also be affected by different types of energy. Not all things have an aura however. A dog, a human, a plant all have auras, but an inanimate object such as a chair or stuffed animal will not naturally have an aura, but this does not mean that auras cannot affect an inanimate object. A child who holds onto a teddy bear for many years even when all there other toys are too "babyish" or they have grown out of those toys, will in a way "stain" that teddy bear with their aura causing someone else who touches the toy feel as though the stuffed animal is alive. Or someones 1st house when they first walk in it feels empty and open, then furniture is moved in and they live there for awhile; when they move out finally after years they walk through the empty rooms one last time and are able to to completely relive memories in each room. Many believe this is because of the bits and pieces of their own and many other auras that fill the rooms.

Of course there are many who disagree with the concept and theory behind auras. This is mainly because they feel there is no tangible proof that auras exist. An aura is not something that can be measured or labeled, not in this time anyway when physical proof is required of all things. Those who believe in auras base there belief on a feeling, not something that cannot be can proved to others. Just as cells and their functions cannot be known to exist without a highly powerful microscope. Yet those tiny organisms make up everything we see. So could it not be possible that auras exist in some way as well?
