No theory explains the formation of the Earth or the other planets in our Solar System. It is scientific fact that our planet, one of the inner rocks nearest the
Sun was formed from leftover gases heavy in metals after the formation of our sun some 5 billion years ago. There is a popular misconception that science can not specifically state how the Earth was formed because The Big Bang is merely a theory.

The Big Bang is in fact a theory however, science can deconstruct the entire Universe all the way back to the nanosecond of the causal event, Big Bang, Creation or whatever you choose to call the instant all of our Universe came into existence.

If you do not believe this fact, I suggest that you not fly in an airplane; never use electrical appliances; avoid vaccines; deny computer, communication, digital, radiological, meteorological, space flight and all other disciplines of science that rely on the same models and math to engineer the things that you use daily, because it is the exact same science that explains the formation of planets.

A little simple logic. The Sun is the most massive object in our system. The inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are all rocks with heavy metal cores and elements. The farther away from the Sun that you get, the less metal you have for construction therefore the outer planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune are gas giants. Pluto is a rock from a nearby asteroid belt and not a true planet so it is not an exception.

The heavier elements that are found near the gas giants are mostly contained in their moons for the same reason that the Sun threw off heavier elements, they were spun away from a swirling center of gravity.

The formation of the Earth or any other celestial body is not a religious topic. The coming into being of the matter that led to the formation is a debatable subject, for the moment.
