Despite only being in the first quarter of the year, 2012 has already brought with it a series of exciting fragrance releases.  Whether you have a penchant for seductive orientals, delicious gourmands or sweet fruity florals, this year definitely has something special in store for your every whim.

In no particular order, here are the top ten women’s perfumes for 2012:

Princess Night, by Vera Wang

Released in January, Princess Night is the fifth spinoff to the immensely popular Princess fragrance. This new interpretation is a dark gourmand featuring berries and watermelon as the top notes; rose, jasmine and orange flower as the middle notes; and a base consisting of sugar, vanilla, musk and woody notes.

Miss Dior Eau Fraiche, by Dior

An excellent choice for the upcoming spring, the latest addition to the Miss Dior Cherie line (now renamed to just Miss Dior) is Miss Dior Eau Fraiche. This elegant white floral features citrus and galbanum accords as the top notes, while a floral heart made of jasmine is showcased over a patchouli-heavy base.

Sheer Beauty, by Calvin Klein

This first spinoff to the original Beauty fragrance is a light, clean fruity floral that captures the elusive appeal of youthful beauty.  It opens with a luminous breeze of bergamot, Bellini and berries that is followed by a delicate floral heart made of jasmine, peony and lily. The dry down contains musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

Island Vanilla, by Pacifica

As its name suggests, this warm oriental fragrance is reminiscent of the laid-back, fun atmosphere on a tropical island resort. Island Vanilla isn’t a gourmand scent, but a sweet, sexy and fun fruity floral with a slight powdery feel to it. The scent consists of a bright, summery blend of vanilla, jasmine, tea, fruits and honey.

Omnia Coral, by Bvlgari

The fifth addition to the Omnia range brings back the iconic bottle in a bold new color. Omnia Coral is a spicy fruity floral that is both feminine and romantic. The top notes are wolfberry and bergamot; the heart consists of pomegranate, water lily and hibiscus, while the base features an earthy blend of cedar and musk.

Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum, by Roberto Cavalli

This new release features an exquisite blend of oriental and white floral notes, which creates an aura of elegance and refinement around the wearer. The fragrance contains: pink pepper, vanilla, orange flower, benzoin and Tonka bean.
