Why blog? Blogging is a very popular way of keeping a journal of your thoughts and feelings, both publicly and privately. Similar to keeping a diary of sorts blogging is a simple and effective way of storing all the things that interest and excite you. Personally I use Live Journal as I like the interface and the image linking, Greatest Journal is also a good one as it has all the premium toys you get with Live Journal when you subscribe. However Live Journal is a lot bigger so you will get more people coming across you. Of course we could go around the swings and roundabouts of which blogging site is best but it would take ages! Lets just think about why we blog.
Blogs combine a scrapbook, link page, diary and journal all together into one place, which is probably why they are so popular. It is easier to plug your camera into your USB port and upload some pictures to your page than printing the pictures out and sticking them into a scrapbook for instance. You don't need paper, scanner, printer or even a pencil and you can access most blog sites even while you are at work, or anywhere else, in break/lunch times if the company policy and firewalls allow.
Blogs are easy to set up and quick to format to how you want them to look. Even if you are a relative novice at website design most people can jump in straight away and with some experimentation you can have a smart website design and layout in a week or two.
So why not get out there and set up your own? Spread the word!
