Why geologists are so concerned with the San Andreas Fault

As this fault runs for miles, its a catastrophe waiting to happen.
This is something that when these two plates shift in a violent way due to giving way from pressure, the force of that shift will send shock waves that will level cities. It's a terrible accident of nature waiting to happen.
For years the two plates have been shifting slowly, and as they do, they occasionally hang up for a while till the pressure is so great that when it gives, we feel a quake.

These are small snags that are necessary so that the plates continue to move. But at one time or another, the plates will grind to a stop resulting from extreme friction and hang for while. Eventually the pressure for the plates to continue moving in opposite directions will give way suddenly, but with a force so great, the whole land will ripple like large waves in the ocean as the land reacts like a liquid.

California and the surrounding areas will be devastated. Loss of life unimaginable.
We have two very deadly forces in our future that can cause sever devastating damage.
The San Andreas Fault, and Yellowstone Park. The park being the greater catastrophe of the two.
