The quest for truth and the meaning of life

The range of topics is diverse. The collective study so enormous that one alone could not undertake it.

The scope of life's questions and the quest to answer them has perplexed many. Not much is done without a goal. Few would spend their time without using it to accomplish something. In everything we do, we must have a reason for doing so, and the reason is typically one of only a few. We strive for wealth, health, and enjoyment. What else drives the human spirit? What else is there but the here and now?

Most people seek to know life after death. Religion is in fact the primary cause of what we do. For some, focus is concentrated on personal effort. Some worry more about what they can convince others to believe. There are so many cults, sects, and religious icons to follow, that some simply throw in the towel and claim that there is no god at all. Overwhelmed with earthly demands, we are hard pressed to find time to even do more than consider our fate. In many respects, our time is truly wasted. Consider your assets. Whether you are homeless and without a meal, or you have acquired a good degree of wealth you are comprised of the same material as your fellow man. We bear common features and we share them to more than just a physical degree. Our minds and reason, our bodies and members, but what else? What else do we share?

We share a common destiny in the grave. Non can dispute that our bodies will die. Longevity may be sought, but you will die, just like everyone else. Funerals are generally assembled to bid farewell to those who have gone before us. We bury the body and grieve, but then even the death of the closest loved one will eventually become a memory as we move forward in life. No other moment may be as painful as the passing away of someone we love. And it is often in the death of another, where we begin to reflect upon our own fate, even on the fate of those we love.

What is this tie that binds us? Death? Certainly it is a commonality, however there is more. Love? Love is also something that we share, but not everyone loves everyone else, and some love no one at all. Our kindred is to each other. We are in fact all family. Not in the essence of a new age "one people" perspective, but rather a literal family of blood relation. Every human alive today is a direct descendant of one common genetic source. We have evolutionists sifting through mismatched sets of bones, and theory after theory which heralds to explain the development of our species, but
