Why I admire my Mother, boy I could be here all day typing about my Mom. She is by far one of the best Mothers in the World in my opinion.
Growing up she always tried to teach me right from wrong, even when I strayed off the path of the right thing to do, her love for me never diminished. Mom would stand back and let me learn my own lesson, without yelling in my face "I told you so". To this day I can go to her and talk to her about anything. She is very open minded and listens instead of preaches.
She comes from a family that are a bunch of drama queens and greedy vultures, she is nothing like them and I tell her all the time I swear she is adopted. Mom has one of the biggest and caring hearts and she loves everyone, not to mention she would give the shirt off her back or the last dime she had in her pocket if she thought someone needed it. To give you an example of how loving she is and how much she cares, she is a Nurse in the school system. She came to my house one day in tears, seems a family of students in her school had just lost their home in a fire, they were almost poverty stricken to begin with and they lost everything that they did have. They would be staying with a relative, but still had nothing. This was just before Christmas and Mom was heartbroken. After her crying and me just hugging her, she set out to furnish the family with new clothing, About 3 weeks of food (Including many good items to have a grand Christmas feast), and she even went Christmas shopping for this family. My Siblings and I helped her wrap each and every gift she had gotten for the children and their parents. That was several years ago and the family still lives in the neighborhood. The kids, who are now older still come to the Elementary school my Mom is at and still give her big hugs of appreciation for what she did for them that Christmas. They have never forgotten her and I doubt they will.
My Mom is remarkable for her accomplishments in life, she is the best Mother, was a good wife (now a widow), she has a kind and giving heart, loves to laugh and volunteers her time in other social surroundings. Her love, nurturing and guidance is why I have turned out the way I have. She taught me to be strong, to reach for my goals, encouraged me, and is still always there for me. Mom also taught me how to love, be loved, to respect myself and to give to others without thinking of myself first. Without her, I doubt I would have ended up the person I am today. So all I can say is THANK YOU MOM, I love you!
