I've had my fair share of experiences with psychics. Several were people I paid for the experience and who were all wrong every time. I had a medium tell me that the friend I was with at the reading, was someone I'd "traveled" with many times in previous lives. I also had a psychic tell me that in six previous lives my husband and I had been married. Several times, he was the woman. You can't check on this stuff and I truly believe that this type of reading is made up.
I had a psychic tell me that I'd write a best seller and a successful screenplay. This hasn't happened to date and I'm pretty sure it won't.
By far, the most interesting experience with a psychic came in 1996, by accident. My family was moving from one side of the country to the other and we went to dinner at a local restaurant with a large group. The feature that night was a psychic. My sister-in-law badgered me into getting a reading and as it was free, I thought, why not?
I sat down at the card table she had draped with a purple velvet tablecloth and she said, "Are you pregnant?"
I had two young daughters and was not pregnant. I told her no.
"Okay, well, I see you holding a boy. And he's your son."
I laughed it off.
She went on to tell me that we were going on an adventure but it won't be what your family thinks it will be and it's not what you need. It will reverse itself and you'll be back where you used to be but your family will be better off.
That sort of threw me and I thought, she must have heard my family and friends talking about the big move that was happening in two days. As to the son. I thought she was a crackpot as I was very happy with my daughters and certain I was done with babies.
Was I ever wrong!
Two years later, when I was moving back East from Arizona, I thought of that reading and decided maybe she was right. Or half right as I wasn't pregnant and doubted I'd be having a son in this lifetime. But her prediction of us coming back and being better off was right on the money.
In 2001, five years after that reading, I was pregnant and the baby was a boy. I had to hand it to her. She was right, after all. I do have a son.
I really do believe that some people have a psychic gift but in my experience, most of them are full of it. Anyone can hang a sign outside that says they are psychic but few of these people really are. I would not turn down another free reading but I probably won't be paying for one in the near future.
