Poetry: A box of chocolates

by Barbara Griffin

Created on: January 23, 2012   Last Updated: January 24, 2012

A box of chocolates, notorious for tempting
Desires to eagerly anticipate delightful tastes
Hidden within an enclosure displaying vivid
Colors of beautiful, and picturesque samples
Portraying sweets awaiting your enjoyment.

A box of chocolates, a designed assortment
Mixes nuts, creams, cherries and other delites
Arranged to entreat and please every fancy
Through a variety of many sweetened choices
Containing dark to light, filled or solid

A box of chocolate offers diverse flavors,
Lightly pasted with creamy brown layers,
Covers morsels beneath a delicious wall
Of pure sweetness which smoothly melts
Upon palates partaking it's indulgence.
