Making money on the internet is like an adventure. Sometimes you stumble upon a really wonderful site and sometimes you get scammed. In my experience, it is easy to make money online if you plan ahead and be patient.

I started my freelance writing career about two years back. Since then I have relied solely on the Internet to make money. Here are some of the sites I recommend. They are good not only for freelance writers, but also for non-writers.

• Associated Content: They pay you for your articles, which should be more than 400 words. If you are not good at writing, submit videos or short movies you can record on your handy cam. Pay for videos is as good if not better, as the articles.

• Triond: At Triond you can write or submit podcasts or videos or pictures. Payment is based on page hits or downloads(in case of podcasts or pictures). In beginning you won't be making much but after a while it picks up.

• PayPerPost: If you have a blog with good Google page rank, then sign up with PayPerPost and get opportunities to post paid ads in your blog. I have made quite a bit with them. It is a great organization and they pay you well. The minimum is $5 per post, so it not too shabby.

• Blogitive: Like PayPerPost, Blogitive is also a paid blogging site. You make $5 per post.

• Gather: At Gather you get gift cards for your participation in discussions or when you submit articles or pictures. If you can make more than $50 a month, you can take cash instead or gift cards.

If you want to look for more opportunities just Google "get paid to write" or "get paid to blog" and you will get a lot of opportunities to explore.
