''I am not wearing my school uniform!'' Melissa declared in a voice that wasn't hers.
Melissa's parents looked at her, their eyes wide open.
''But you love your school uniform!''
'' No I do not! I hate it!''
''You...you hate it?''
'' Yes! I hate it! I always hated it! This blue uniform. Always cleaned. Always ironed. Always perfect. Like me!'' Melissa screamed in desperation.
Melissa's mom made a step towards her. When she tried touching her right arm, Melissa quickly made a step backwards. Her eyes were swimming in dark waters, without a life-jacket.
'' What's wrong with being perfect honey? This is what most people try to be but cannot accomplish. You were born perfect! Ever since you came into our lives... ''
Melissa's sarcastic smile made her suddenly stop.
''Ever since I came into your lives, I am your pride and joy. The best kid. The best student. The best athlete. Your accomplishment that you show off to everyone all the time to make yourselves feel important! !''
As if slapped, Melissa's mother turned her face away quickly, avoiding eye contact with her. Her father was too shocked to even open his mouth.
'' Enough! Starting today, I will be studying as much as I want to! I will stop going to tennis classes, because I hate tennis! If someone disrespects me, I will put him in his place! And that school uniform...you can keep it, to be reminded that YOUR dream died a painful death!''
