Somehow, its probably you yourself that caused the situation, not deliberate, but its you its being done to. Okay, so we have an idiot in charge who can't resist being a complete one by falling to the urge to hurt one of his own.
So what to do? Not much of anything, but doing nothing isn't the answer either.
If possible remain silent with your feelings. Don't discuss the problem with others in the workplace. Continue to produce as usual.
You never know who his pet snitch is who will betray your confidence.
They never let on they are on his side.
So you can't trust anyone in this case.
But word gets around, and so it's a matter of getting to the bottom of why he did so.
Does he do it to everyone? Or is it just a few select of his choosing.
The less you show how it bothers you the better.
Resist the urge to get even. Mind you I didn't say undermine.
A boss like that doesn't have the capacity to think ahead. He's an amateur. A truly professional type doesn't stoop to those levels.
A time will come when you can build a opportunity to expose his weaknesses.
Do it covertly, and not let on to anyone.
Meantime, knowing your plan, it relieves you of some of the anger because you are in the process of finding a way to let him hang himself. When the time comes, you can act on it.
It's not revenge, it's ridding the company of someone who's interests are not that of the company, but his own.
Just continue on, but from now on, do not give an ounce of opportunity for him to ever do it again.
Think of what it was that caused it, and refrain from falling into doing it again.
What can be said of such unprofessional conduct?
Look for opportunities to present what you do to a higher authority in the company if possible to get recognized for what you did.
There are ways to do so, and I'm sure working on the inside, you'll be able to see those opportunities.
By sticking to your job, and by monitoring yourself to keep from this happening again is probably the way to handle it minus just leaving for another company.
