God is always be relevant to those who believe in Him. Today we are faced with a bad economy, job loss, war, terrorist threats, a high divorce rate, substance abuse, a lack of trust in others, and feeling very overwhelmed. This reality can leave some people depressed and concerned about the problems in the world we are all part of.
People who have had faith in the past will most likely turn to God once again for guidance and, a sense of security, knowing there is a Higher Being who will oversee and be there throughout life's magnificent, but sometimes rocky journey. This mind-set for some tends to be a comfort in times of pain and hardship when a feeling of hope, and peace is deeply desired, and needed.
We live in a fast paced world where families have become very busy with activities. Second jobs for some, because of necessity, and less time to be together has unfortunately become a way of life. Worshiping as a family Sunday mornings or Saturdays has also become less frequent for some of us. Sometimes families are on the soccer field instead of participating in church services. This of course is a matter of conscience, and each family will do what is best for them at that time. Not attending church does not make God less relevant. God can still be very much present in their lives even if church attendance has suffered through the years.
We may not give God the time He deserves, but He can always be in ones life through hope and prayer. Tough times will sometimes make us connect with Him more for a better understanding of the world we are part of. All the trials and tribulations that are a fact of life will burden some people with worry and a feeling of unrest. Turning to faith and hope, lessens the sense that one is alone and has to burden the pain by him or herself. Private prayer is still practiced by many, when God is a big part of their lives.
God is as relevant in today's world as He was years ago. We may not always live pure lives, be non sinners, and always do the right things, but, at the end of the day when we are alone with our thoughts those of us who do believe will continue to talk to God in a nightly prayer of love and thanksgiving for the gift of life and the many blessings that are bestowed on us.
