Memoirs: Birth stories

cord, he immediately said, "Yes!". I held her briefly after she was born and then she was taken to be weighed, measured, and to have a stamp of her feet taken. We were happy to know that we were the proud parents of a 7lbs, 12 oz., 20 inches long baby girl. We couldn't have been happier.

I was then transferred to the room that I would be in for the next 2 and half days.

Kahlan stayed with us most of the time because I was breastfeeding. They only took her to the nursery when I had gotten only 2 hours sleep. I was amazed to see this. The birthplace has the babies all on what I like to call, "Lo-Jack". It was a little ankle bracelet tied to an alarm system. If anyone tried to walk out of the hospital with one of these babies and alarm would sound. I had never heard of this but I am glad that it exists.

After days of being in a hospital bed, I was able to leave with our new little one.
I was elated just to leave and be in my own home. When we left the hospital the nurses at the front desk took her "lo-jack" device off of her and checked to make sure that her car seat was appropriate. Mommy, Daddy, and baby Kahlan now make three.

When we arrived back home, I felt like could have run a marathon. I was so happy.
Now, our little girl Kahlan is three months old and is doing great. I am still as happy as I was months back when I left the hospital. I would never take back a moment of it. As a last note, I recommend to all new mothers that not using drugs for labor is worth it. You will also be proud of yourself.

God-Bless to all parents and especially to new moms because I know how difficult some days can be.
