During the '70's, Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg produced a show about three female detectives. That show was called Charlie's Angels. The series pilot premiered on March 21, 1976. The very first episode made it's debut in September of 1976. The pilot and the series starred Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and David Doyle. The person who is known to do Charlie's voice is John Forsythe. He does appear in the series, but no one on the show see his face. Farrah Fawcett played Jill Munroe on the series from 1976-1977. Kelly Garrett was played by Jaclyn Smith, who have spent all five years on the show. Kate Jackson played Sabrina Duncan, aka the Smart Angel. The late David Doyle played John Bosley, who helped the angels with so many cases. In 1977, Farrah Fawcett left the show and was replaced by Cheryl Ladd, who played Jill's rookie sister, Kris Munroe, but returned for 6 more episodes between 1978 and 1980. Kate Jackson left the show in 1979 and was replaced by Shelley Hack, who played Tiffany Welles. She was soon replaced by Tonya Roberts, who played Julie Rogers from 1980-1981. Many episodes went from Jill, being the hated star on a roller derby team, Kelly and Kris, replacing two beauty contestants in a beauty contest, Kelly, replacing a female news radio star, who has received death threats, Sabrina, replacing a dead race car driver, Kris' part in a Broadway play, Kelly as a singer in a chorus line, Tiffany's nightmare, Bosley, being stalked, to Julie, trying to find out who killed her modeling school classmate. I loved these episodes so much I wish I had all of them on DVD. Charlie's Angels had a lot of success until the show was canceled in 1981. Charlie's Angels returned again as two movies, Charlie's Angels the Movie, and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. On a scale of one to a hundred, I give Charlie's Angels a number 100 because the show is still a successful today. Check out Charlie's Angels' first three seasons on DVD.
