How to create a Kate Middleton inspired makeup look

Kate Middleton's makeup is very elegant and natural yet has a bit of drama to her look by adding black eyeliner. Her makeup is usually quite simple and all her looks are similar, so it is quite easy to replicate a Kate Middleton makeup look. Below are the steps to do so:

Foundation
There are a number of options for foundation. Kate's skin is flawless, glowy and dewy yet her foundation is light, making it look as if it is her natural skin. Use a light foundation that is liquid preferably as this gives a nice dewy look to the skin, you can choose foundations which are made to have a glow. If you do not feel like wearing foundation you can use a tinted moistyriser instead which will even out your skin but look extremely natural.

You can apply your foundation or tinted moisturiser using a brush or your fingers, just make sure they are clean. Blend your choice of skin product into your skin bringing it down to the neckline to look as if you naturally have amazing skin.

Powder
If you find that your skin tends to get oily, use a powder in the centre of your face to minimise shine. Leave the cheek area bare so it will look as if your skin is glowing.

Blush
Kate always uses a pink blusher because she naturally blushes pink. However pink may not suit everyone's skin tone, peach coloured blush or natural almost flesh toned blushes look extremely flattering. Apply your blush on the apples of your cheek and blend up to your cheekbone.

Eyebrows
Define your eyebrows to make them prominent, this is a key feature in Kate's makeup. Her eyebrows frame her face and are quite dark. First brush your eyebrows into place using a eyebrow brush. You can use a powder and an angled brush or an eyebrow pencil. Fill your eyebrows in short strokes to mimick natural hair. Brush an eyebrow brush through your eyebrows again to soften them and make it look natural.

Eyes
Her eyes are always defined. She seems to use a base colour all over her lids. You can apply concealer to your lids and set it with a powder. Then apply a crease colour, preferably brown along your crease, this is the hollow of your eye. Apply it with a blending brush and sweep back and forth in a windscreen wiper motion. If you want more drama, as Kate sometimes does, for example on her wedding day, you can add a dark colour such as grey or black to your outer third of your eye blending it into your crease.

Kate usually uses eyeliner to define her eyes even more. Use a black Kohl liner or liquid liner along the roots of your lashes. Also apply to your waterline. If you want a more natural look skip applying to your waterline but just leave it on the lash line. Wear a lengthening mascara that separates all of your lashes.

Lips
Kate always has a light bubblegum pink lipgloss on like her blush, again because her lips are naturally pink. If you find that pink does not flatter you, you can mix it in with a darker colour such as a brown to make it wearable for your skin type. Other options are darker pinks, oranges and peaches. Sometimes Kate adds shimmer to her gloss so feel free to do this.

The key with replicating Kate Middleton's makeup is to using natural colours and products that will enhance your skin instead of masking it.
