Buying an appropriate Christmas gift for an avid traveler is not always easy, especially if you are not an avid traveler yourself. It is easy to buy something totally useless, therefore some helpful tips can guide you in the right direction.

A kindle reading device is another excellent Christmas gift for an avid traveler. It helps him read tons of books, magazines and newspapers in a device that takes very little space, can be carried everywhere and is very easy on the eyes. 

Portable GPS navigator

A portable GPS navigator is another great Christmas gift for the avid traveler who loves to drive, as it can help him reach his desired destinations with ease. Because of the fact that it costs a bit much, such a gift is not affordable for everyone. If you can afford buying it though, you will certainly make your friend, the  avid traveler, very happy.

Books

A person who travels a lot spends too much time on boats, planes, and cars. To help him use this time constructively, you can buy him some great books to read. Make sure you pick the writing genre he prefers. Crime novels will not be welcomed by the avid traveler who loves reading poetry. If you want to buy your friend several books but you cannot afford it, you can buy some used books, or even give him some of your own, that you no longer want, to save money. Just make sure they are in good condition. If you wrap them nicely, they won't know the difference.

Videos add new dimensions to the documentations of trips, as they allow certain magical moments to stay alive forever.  For that reason, a nice video camera will be greatly appreciated by an avid traveler.
