It's that time of year again! Holiday parties are flying left and right and while you might have the perfect outfit, have you thought about the proper way to wear your hair? Seriously, there is a right and wrong way to wear your hair depending on the situation, even the time of day. You've probably guessed that wearing that skin tight little black dress might not be right for the office party that you are going to have to attend to show team spirit, but what is the best way to wear your hair? To be honest, it all depends on one big factor.
Where's the party at?
Time to be casual. Take the time to fix it of course, but there's no need to go over the top with this one. You want to keep the same professional level at the party as you would during work. Your employer is still watching so you want to conduct yourself (and grooming habits) in a manor that will look favorable upon you. You may also want to go with a style that is a hair (pun intended) more relaxed than you would wear at work. The style and location of party plays a big part in the deciding factor of how to wear your hair.
For example, if the party is at a restaurant then wearing a style that is pulled back and clipped up is a good option if your hair is longer. Showing curls perhaps or a slick look is a safe bet. You will want to keep your earrings short too. If you have short hair, it still may be a good idea to pull back the front of your hair with a nice sparkle clip. If the party is at a co-workers house then it would be a safe bet to wear your hair down in a more casual fashion because the party throwers will likely be aiming for a 'at-home' feel. The dress would be the same as well, slightly more casual than if a hall is rented out or if everyone is meeting up at a restaurant.
Remember, you are making an impression on someone. No one is invisible at an office party, when everyone returns to work, there's sure to be buzz around the water cooler. How you are remembered is a head to toe affair!
