One of the benefits of doing a D.I.Y manicure is that you can really unleash your creativity. There are lots of fun products that you can use to create a multicolor manicure. This article looks at several products to consider.

Five fun products for multicolor home manicures:

1. OPI shatter nail polish

OPI’s shatter nail polish is a top coat that disappears in spots, revealing the base color nail polish you have painted underneath. It works because it contains a solvent that is incompatible with regular nail polish. Originally it was released in Black, but now there are many colored versions available like Red, Turquoise, Silver, and Gold. When the shatter nail polish dries it creates a look that is almost like leopard print on the top of your nails.

2. OPI Nail Lacquer Muppets Collection, Rainbow Connection

This nail polish creates an intense multicolor glittery appearance. It features multi colored sparkle chips from tiny ordinary glitter sparkles, through to larger disc like pieces. If you want a really intense look be aware that you will probably need to apply this one in three coats. Or try a bold base coat color underneath and a coat or two of the rainbow connection polish on top.

3. Sephora by OPI nail glitter

These nail glitters come in many colors and you simply apply any desired nail polish and whilst it is still wet, dip your nail into the glitter pot, or sprinkle over the nail. Try a contrasting nail polish color as the base coat and for a really colorful look apply more than one color of glitter. You will also find lots of brands offering glitter nail art pens that can help you create a nice multicolor manicure.

4. Incoco dry nail appliques

Incoco dry nail appliques are dry strips of nail polish you simply stick onto your nails. When it comes to giving yourself a multicolor manicure they allow you to achieve looks that would be very difficult to apply by hand. For example, they have holiday styles which feature decorative multicolored designs, styles like make a wish which consists of rows of multi colored glitter on the diagonal, and wild card glitter which is a bit like a multi colored zebra style print.
