Homemade Christmas decorations for kids to make are plentiful and will give your kids hours of fun activities to keep them busy before Christmas and during the Christmas holidays when they are off from school. Christmas decorations for kids to make can be be made at home, during school, and are ready to make for kids of all ages, even big kids at heart.

Homemade Christmas decorations for kids to make are the following;

Old fashioned paper chains

Kids will have a great time making paper chains to adorn the Christmas tree, windows or the ceilings of the house. All you have to do is buy colorful construction paper either in red and green, or any Christmas-like colors your kids want to use. Depending on the kids ages, you either cut out the paper to be used as paper chains, or the kids can cut them out. Then, roll each one into a circle, joining the ends, and either staple or glue them together. Once completed, the paper chains can be used as tinsel on the Christmas tree. This way, the kids can see their handiwork and point it out to all who visit during the holidays.

Snow flakes

Snowflakes are more homemade Christmas decorations kids can make that may take a lot of time, and kids can make the snowflakes when they have rambunctious friends over to the house. Snowflakes should be made out of white paper by folding the paper over as many times as the kids want to,and cutting out various designs, making different imaginative snowflake designs. Snowflakes can also be made out of various colored paper if the kids feel so inclined. The kids can decorate their snowflakes by coloring them or putting glitter on them also. They can paint them if they want, or leave them a sparkling white to hang in windows, on the Christmas tree, or where ever they decide.

Glitter pine cone ornaments

More homemade Christmas decorations for kids to make are glitter pine cones. Gather or buy pine cones that are large enough for the kids to hang on the Christmas tree, or place around the house as Christmas decorations. To make these creative, long lasting decorations, place the glue on a paper plate, and then roll the pine cones in it. Then the kids can roll the pine cones in the glitter poured onto another paper plate. The kids can also squirt glue or glitter glue onto the pine cones, if you would rather do it that way.

Peanut butter pine cones

Kids can make peanut butter pine cones rolled in birdseed. Once completed kids can find the best spot to hang the pine cones such as a tree limb, or resting on a ledge for the birds and squirrels to munch happily on in cold, dreary winter months. Kids can make the peanut butter pine cones for outdoor critters by simply rolling the pine cones in peanut butter, and then birdseed. Or kids can slather the pine cones with peanut butter, simply rolling the pine cones in birdseed, or sprinkle the birdseed on the pine cones. Some kids will want to hang the pine cones from the Christmas tree. But remember to hang it high enough so that it is out of reach of household pets. You may want to take it off the tree after a short display period, to feed outdoor animals.

Homemade Christmas decorations for kids to make are great, time-consuming activities that will keep the kids occupied, using their imaginations, and your home will look warm, and cozy for the holidays.
