“Afraid”
Fear. So afraid of losing,
Of seeing, of being
Alone. Afraid of myself,
Of you. Of letting down.
Never said I’d save you.
Afraid. Of being saved.
Don’t mean to push
You away. I freeze.
Reality gets too close.
Guarded. Can’t lose
Control. Afraid of
Everything I know.
Fear of life, of living.
To see my own
Misgivings. Afraid
So afraid of me.

That fills me with uneasiness and fear
My mind won’t
