Absent Presence
The way I feel, like a burden of a lying lover.
The oldest tricks in the book, used as a cover.
I'm the promise of good mothering, and the image of a model wife.
The only thing exposed is a shell of my empty life.
I'm blamed and resented, for doings to which I atone.
I'm an easy scapegoat for situations you refuse to own.
The worse part of it all, is you pretend that all is fine.
Dancing around like a kangaroo, avoiding a landmine.
Your head and heart are existing, but not in the sadness of this place.
It's obviously stressful, by the look upon your face.
My words for you are evil, and tend to be unkind.
A life with you isn't living, it's coping with a frame of mind!
