In this stressed filled world, it may seem impossible to find happy thoughts to occupy your mind. Many people are caught up in work and the everyday tasks that take so much energy to complete, happy thoughts are difficult to find. The truth is, taking the time to think about the good in your life, gives you a greater appreciation of what is important.
When you fill your mind with positive, happy thoughts, it actually gives you a better quality of life and helps you cope with those everyday stresses.
~Meditate
You can call it meditation or a mental time out, but the point is to clear your mind and re-focus for a few minutes each day. Begin with a quiet setting or put on soft, relaxing music. Take ten deep breathes, breathe in through your nose and slowly blow out through your mouth. Ten to twenty minutes is a good amount of time to clear your mind of the pressures of the day.
This also is a great way to calm your mind and find that inner peace that seemed to disappear while driving in morning traffic and solving all the problems of the day.
~Think happy
When you have a mindset to think happy thoughts, it brings the positive attitude to the surface. Each day think of those in your life who bring you joy. List them in your mind, one by one. Your family, your friends and remember the kind, gentleman that held the door open for you today.
Look for the joy in your day rather than focus on the negative. This kind of thought process builds a positive attitude. This attitude will becomes habit forming and will condition your mind to think and focus on the pleasant people you encountered.
~Show kindness
When you think of others rather than yourself, you can’t help but feel better and experience happy thoughts. When you bring joy to others, it is returned to you over and over again. Think of the elderly, neighbor lady who loves daisy’s and take her a bouquet. Fix your families favorite meal for no special reason.
Regardless of the act of kindness, giving from your heart will build a strong character and give you immeasurable happiness.
Filling your mind with happy thoughts may be a challenge on many days; however, taking the time to concentrate on the good, positive things can be a life changing experience. At the end of the day, when you are in a warm bed, safely tucked away in your home, count your many blessings and think of all the good you have in your life.
Happiness and peace come from within, when you are able to put aside the negative thoughts. By changing the way you think and focus each day, you can make positive changes in your life. When you think of all the good you have done for others; happy thoughts will fill your mind and your heart.
