Unique Christmas menu ideas

Unique Christmas menu ideas can be anything the host of Christmas dinner wants the dinner items to be. A good host wants friends and relatives to be happy and satisfied from a good, healthy meal and will arrange a menu making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Sometimes while rushing around getting everything ready for Christmas, some hosts forget that not everyone can or will eat what is served.

Therefore, the best thing you can do is offer an interesting variety of menu items for your Christmas guests to feast on.You may also be hosting
Christmas parties at your home, Christmas dinner, or Christmas Eve dinner. You will want to make many foods in advance or ask your guests to each bring a plate to pass. You will also have to include the meat eaters, and the vegetarians in your group.

Unique Christmas menu ideas include obviously something that isn't the same old-same old.

Fish is a good alternative

How about trying something completely different for Christmas this year which means going nontraditional. Try something different for a unique menu idea this year by serving fish. You could try offering the meat lovers ham or a turkey, while also offering to the menu baked salmon, and shrimp cocktail. By offering fish instead of manily meat as the main menu alternatives, Christmas guests may find Christmas more creative, and they may find they can stay awake after a big meal, being able to join in after-dinner games. You can bake the salmon in a buttery-garlic sauce, and serve the shrimp in wine glasses with cocktail sauce, or however you would like.

Vegetables are unique choices

Other unique Christmas menu ideas are offering to the selection many varieties of vegetables. Many times vegetables are overlooked with guests saving room for a huge piece of turkey. Every kind of vegetable can be offered from baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, or sweet corn, to french fries for the kids. Cheese can be melted on broccoli, corn or potato slices making them more interesting for everyone in the group to eat.

Chinese food

Traditionally, turkey or ham are served with side dishes of beans and stuffing. But the menu for Christmas does not have to always be the same old thing year after boring year. Spice it up this year, by offering an array of Chinese food. Order Chinese food from the nearest Chinese restaurant. Just make certain, you okay this with your guests first, because you may have the older stalwarts not wanting to change, still sticking to traditional Christmas menu fare.

Just imagine fried eggrolls, or fried wanton for appetizers. The main course could include sweet and sour pork, shrimp with broccoli, and of course you would have to include fried rice. Your unique Christmas menu  may include chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, beef with broccoli, or any other Chinese fare your guests are willing to participate in.

Go for it this year by changing up the Christmas menu. Whatever your tastes are, do something nontraditional. It can be changing the entire Christmas menu, to placing a different appetizer in with the overall selection. But whatever menu ideas you create, make certain they are as unique as you are.
