Santa is one of the most generous souls on earth. He visits the homes of children around the world to leave them special treats. Santa appreciates getting a treat every now and then too. The difficult part is knowing exactly what Santa Claus likes. Since people spend a great deal of time choosing just the right gift for everyone on their list, they should take just as much time deciding what to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. Santa is just too important to throw stale cookies out for.
What to Leave Out for Santa on Christmas Eve
Orange Slices- Although Santa appreciates the occasional cookie, he has put in a special request to get foods that will help keep up his strength. Oranges will give Santa a little boost of energy to get through the long night. An orange, sliced and ready, are easy to eat and help Santa fight off colds too.
Hot Chocolate and Fresh, Dry Socks- Santa gets awfully cold flying around on Christmas Eve. Every once in a while, he needs a pair of fresh, dry socks to keep his toes from freezing. Add a cup of hot chocolate to keep his insides warm. Santa uses thermal socks most of the time because they keep his feet warm and toasty.
Bowl of Soup- Hot chocolate is great to keep Santa’s insides warm, but a bowl of soup will also nourish him. Give Santa a bowl of vegetable soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. This is a great time to give Santa a little vitamin D with an ice cold glass of milk. Everyone needs nourishment and this is the perfect treat to keep Santa from wearing down before he makes all of his deliveries.
Cookies and Milk- It is traditional to leave Santa cookies and milk to give him a special treat. Do not leave too many cookies for him because they can bog him down, leaving him unable to move as fast as he needs to. Two large chocolate chip cookies and a small glass of milk to dip them in is the perfect amount.
Thank You Note- Santa and his reindeer work very hard to make sure everyone gets what they want for Christmas. Santa loves doing that, but it is always nice to know it is appreciated. Write Santa a thank you note for working so hard to make Christmas the most special day of the year.
Do not forget to leave a little something extra for Santa’s reindeer. They have a long journey ahead and need plenty of energy to get all the way around the world. Reindeer snacks can be purchased at any store that sells animal supplies. They also need water. Reindeer cannot drink hot chocolate because chocolate is bad for them. Santa and his reindeer will appreciate the extra attention they get this Christmas and Mrs. Claus will not have to worry so much about those she loves the most.
