New Year’s Eve is a night that is typically associated with drinking as a part of the celebration, but this isn’t the only way to have a fun evening. In fact, it isn’t even the most ideal way, considering the fact that many of those who drink on New Year’s Eve will over-indulge and spend the first day of the new year with a hangover and possibly, one or more regrets regarding their actions the night before. The following are some ideas you can use for having a fun and alcohol-free New Year’s Eve.
*Designated Driving
For people who enjoy driving and are planning to be up late into the night, offering to be the designated driver for your friends and family can be a lot of fun. You will get to visit, at least briefly depending on the length of the drive, with many of the people that you care for and you will also get the satisfaction of ensuring that they all arrive home safe and sound at the end of the night.
*Friends Volunteer Night
One of the most fun things that a person can do is to get together with good friends and another is to help others. Combine the two and you have an excellent way to spend the last day of the year. There is not only the spirit of camaraderie in spending time with those that you care about and enjoy, but there is also the great feeling that you get from helping others. Some wonderful places to volunteer are homeless shelters, soup kitchens, retirement homes, care centers, hospitals, or veteran organizations.
*Makeover Night
What better way to start a new year than with a feeling of a new you? A makeover night will refresh, renew, and rejuvenate and is great fun when spent with several of your closest friends. Manicures, pedicures, facials, hair removal, self-tanner, a healthy workout, and a nice meal can have you waking up to a new year feeling your very best.
*”Fancy” Outings
If you are like most people, you don’t dress to the nines and head out for a night on the town on a regular basis. This is a really fun way to exit the old year and enter the new. The opera, a play, a ballet, an upscale restaurant, or another venue that you prefer will give you a very special night and memories to take with you long after New Year’s Eve has ended.
*Crafting the Year
If you and a couple of your friends enjoy crafts, you can host a craft night. Think about the memories that you have of the past year and whatever your preferred craft is, incorporate these memories into something that you create.
