There are many many choices out there. The smart Traveler looks for the best deal. Those that advertise heavily may not actually be giving you the best discounts! Don't be afraid of checking out the 'little guy'.

Hotwire is a run off of expedia and offers last minute discounts. The downfall is you will not know who your airline carrier actually is until you book the ticket. The same goes with Hotels. Luckily they do tell you the hotel rating before you book.

For airfares, always check Southwest and Jetblue however beware of the $49.00 specials advertised. You have to jump in early to take advantage of $49.00 for 'round trip'. My experience has been it has been no issue in getting the flight to my location for $49.00 but to get back I am forced to select a higher priced flight. The end result equals out the same as a regular priced ticket. Don't be afraid to jump 'air lines' for your return flight. Another carrier could be offering the same discounts!

www.1click2trips.com combines many last minute deals and is an excellent source to compare. They offer the K-mart specials: 1 Stop Shopping for last minute deals as well as event tickets,golf and spa excursions. Their marketing is not aggressive and they easily get lost when it comes to advertising, but the flights are generally very comparable if not lower.
