Many of the products available on the market have chemicals that can be irritating to our skin. One alternative is to make your own.
I personally used this recipe and I have often recommended it.
You'll need liquid glycerin, which can be found in most drug store. Its purpose is to increase moisture in the skin, but its used here to create the bubbles.
Buy Castile soap, which is made from biodegradable oils that are gentle on your skin and won't clog your pores. Grate the soap using a hand grater.
I suggest using distilled water (purchased in your grocery store) because the chlorine and other impurities have been removed from it.
Feel free to experiment with essential oils (3-4 drops is good to start with). For a soothing scent try lavender or sandalwood. Try spearmint or lemon oil to energize you in the morning.
Start with 1 quart of hot water (the hot water will help the soap dissolve faster) and one (grated) 4 oz. bar of soap. After it is mixed, add in 3 oz. of glycerin and oil.
Mix ingredients in a container to store it. Use a little under running water to create your very own homemade bubble bath.
You can also put this mixture in pretty bottles (that you can find at thrift stores) and give it as part of a gift basket, maybe with other homemade toiletries
Enjoy and relax!
