Poetry: I told you so

Created on: December 18, 2011   Last Updated: December 19, 2011

I told you Son

I told you son
Not to be foolish
Like your friends
For you must allow
Room for Growth

I know I set a high bar
For you my son
My love for you
Is very wide and far

I  told you son
Not to drink and drive
For you may not
Come back alive

Billy and family
Were driving in a car
When they were
Killed in the crash

I told you son
For that day my life
Was never the same
As I lost my loving wife

I told you son
Now I bare the scars
And memories
From behind bars
