There are many ways to get into the holiday spirit. If you are feeling particularly festive you can even get into the spirit by looking the part. There are several ways to give your nails a festive look for the holiday season. This article looks at six suggestions.

Six ways to give your nails a festive look for the holiday season:

1. Festive Decals/stickers

One of the quickest and easiest ways to give your nails a festive look is to apply a festive themed sticker or decal. You can go literal by selecting styles that feature Christmas trees, Santas, or candy canes, or if you want something a bit more subtle try snowflakes or bows. There are now lots of really cute 3D styles available.

2. Glitter

Glitter can help create a holiday feel in an instant. You could use an allover glitter nail polish, or use a glitter nail art pen to apply glitter to the nail tips, or in another area of the nail. Also consider mixing two colors of glitter like red and green or red and gold. Or apply glitter in a contrasting shade to your nail polish color.

3. Festive colored nail polish

Simply by choosing a festive colored nail polish color, you can evoke the holiday spirit. Try colors like Red, Green or Gold. Also consider applying different colors to different sections of your nail. For example, you could apply red to the base and white to the tip. Alternatively try painting every second nail a different festive color.

4. Write a Christmas message across your nails

You could add letters to each nail with a nail art pen to convey a festive message. For example, Merry Xmas! Fits perfectly across ten nails. Or you could try words like Peace and Joy with a sticker on either side of the Joy.

5. Pop on some festive nail tips

If you feel confident applying your own false nails, you can simply look for holiday themed nail tips. If you are having trouble finding something you like, check out eBay as there are many styles available.

6. Have some nail decorations embedded in your nails

If you get your nails done at the salon, consider asking your nail technician to embed some plastic nail art decorations into the gel or acrylic topcoat. Many salons will have holiday themed nail art on hand, or you could buy your own and take it in to be applied.
