Hair is important aspect to both men and women, it can brighten our outlook or make us feel drab depending upon the day. Bad hair days are blamed for any number of issues in peoples of life. Its time to take charge and eliminate some of those bad hair days. If mousy hair is the issues there are some different steps you can take to brighten up your look.

Starting with the most costly, salons across the nation provide services such as highlights or color changes to adapt a persons hair color to be more appropriate for their features. If this is seems like an options for you then great, I too have adapted a drab brown hair color to a richer brown. A word of advice from experience, try on some wigs in different colors and see which matches your skin tone and facial features before committing to a dye. It is important to see your self with the color you think would suit before you decide. Be very specific with your stylist, I want my hair to be the same color as Kim Kardashian's is not a bad references but if you can bring in a wig sample or give a specific color that would be better. Saying darker or lighter is a little too vague.

Also before going with a color change check out the backgrounds of your color technician. Make sure that they are experienced and preferably have references that would vouch for their abilities. There is a wide world of professionals out there who are fantastic at their jobs, and a few who are not as talented. It is important to not assume that the local salon can give you what you want. It is best to ask around and interview.

A final warning on color change remember it is pricey and will need to be done at regular intervals in order to maintain the look. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on your hair if this is the route you plan to take.

Another way to liven up mousy hair is to change the cut. Less expensive than coloring and less drastic a new cut and style can change your whole look. Layers in the cut can add depth and movement and make the hair style more interesting.

The use of products can give mousy hair sheen, bounce, and lift making the hair stand out and brighten a look. Using a straightener to remove frizz, a curling iron to add bounce or some product to add a sheen to the finished hair makes a huge difference without changing cut or color.

Finally the least expensive option is adding a pony tail, a bump it, a barrette or braid and ribbon to change the way the hair lays and bring your face into the front. The brightly colored ribbon or bow can add color where it is needed and provide the needed lift for your hair.

In conclusion whether the more expensive color change is your choice or the low cost ribbon or bow attitude can make the biggest difference of all. It's your hair own it, love it, make it work.
