The 2012 Callaway Silverado SC540 promises to be one of the best sport pick-up trucks this year. It has a powerful supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that gets a staggering 540 horsepower. The 522 pound feet of torque is more than powerful enough for the truck. Not only is this truck a practical vehicle it also has great acceleration, which may even beat some sports cars. It can reportedly get from 0-60 in 5.0 seconds. The good thing about the Callaway being quick is that fuel economy is not compromised.
Improvements have been made to ensure this pick-up has even better handling than previous models. Upgraded dampers, springs, and anti-roll bars give the added stability to the suspension and make handling a treat. To make gravity better and reduce spring and damper faults the truck has been lowered by 2.5 inches at the front and 5 inches at the rear axle.
Prices are starting at $21,945 for the basic model. The Silverado Callaway is expected to get 18-23 mpg when it comes to fuel economy. However, the SC540 is not ideal for towing or hitching a trailer due to the reduction in height. If you're looking for those capabilities in your pick-up you would be better off with the 2500HD Silverado with 4WD.
The 2012 Callway Silverado SC540 can be described as a sports machine disguised as a working truck. It has very basic designes on both the exterior and interior of the truck. This isn't a fault as most pick-ups are made this way as they are not normally bought for the sporty looks.
If you're looking for a pick-up that's hot on speed as well as a great working vehicle, then the Callaway Silverado SC540 could be just what you're looking to buy. Base models are reasonably priced, but you can pay over $40,000 for all the bells and whistles. It's a good combination of practical and fast and it will certainly not dissapoint no matter what your reason is for investing in a truck like this. For 2012, this truck is looking to beat all of the competition and being a well known and respectable company they may just do it. Outside and inside this pick-up looks simple and yet unique, it has enough style to keep you interested, but is simple enough to show its not all about being trendy.
