Even though 2012 is yet to begin, gaming companies already have new PlayStation 3 titles lined up for release. Several games set to release at the beginning of 2012 have created a buzz in the gaming world, while other games do not have a set release date, but fans are still anxiously waiting. Many games are still in the works, and just because a gaming company plans to release it in 2012, doesn’t mean it will get that release. Take a look at several PS3 games set to release in 2012 that should create a buzz within the gaming community.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: January 31, 2012

Many Final Fantasy fans already have this game pre-ordered. It is Final Fantasy's second sequel, and brings back Lightning. In the game, players get to control Serah, Lightning's sister, on a search to find Lightning. While many gamers felt that "Final Fantasy XIII" needed more open world exploration, they are still excited for this new installment and hope that Square Enix fixes their mistakes from the first game. It is definitely the most anticipated game for 2012.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Fans of Studio Ghibli are itching to get their hands on "Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch." IGN just recently announced that the game would hit American shelves sometime in 2012. Without doubt, the game will have Studio Ghibli's beautiful animation and tell a great story. Haven't heard of Studio Ghibli? Watch some of their movies, such as "Spirited Away" and "Ponyo."

Silent Hill: Downpour: March 2012

Horror fans rejoice, because another "Silent Hill" is in the works. The series is known for its twisted stories, frightening enemies and warped animation. That is exactly what fans love about the series, though, and "Silent Hill: Downpour" promises more of it.

I Am Alive: Q1 2012

There are tons of post-apocalyptic games, and more will release, inevitably. The PSN game, "I Am Alive," has promised something different in the genre. Players control a loner on the destroyed streets, as he fights for his survival. While weapons are available in the game, players can also intimidated enemies with empty guns. It creates a realistic look at survival. 

Street Fighter x Tekken: March 6, 2012

"Street Fighter" and "Tekken" fans will get the best of both worlds in the crossover, "Street Fighter x Tekken." Plays as well-known characters from both games and battle it out on the streets. The game also contains upgraded graphics to create more detailed characters.

South Park: The Game

There is still little information on "South Park: The Game," but that won't stop fans from talking about it. What is known is that the game is a full RPG, and players control a new kid in town who must make friends and protect the people.
