Diapers cost a great deal of money, especially considering how many a single child needs. Different strategies can help parents save money on these necessary items. Because of the number needed, even small price reductions can have a significant overall effect. The more money-saving methods you use, the more you will save.
Consider less expensive diapers
Diapers range greatly in price depending on the brand. Store brands such as up & up from Target tend to be much cheaper than name brands such as Pampers. Some brands such as Luvs are cheaper than other brands.
Even within brands you will find price differences. For instance, Pampers offers the Baby Dry line, which is cheaper than their Cruisers line. Of course quality differences can exist within these different types of diapers, however according to Consumer Reports, store brands can still be very effective. It is worthwhile to evaluate the different types to find out whether a cheaper one will accommodate your needs. You can also use a combination of cheaper and more expensive diapers for different needs such as a higher quality diaper for nighttime when you need better coverage.
Shop around
The same diapers cost far different prices depending on where you purchase them. The Internet is an excellent place to buy diapers. Amazon offers some of the best prices around on brands such as Pampers. Also, remember that prices change frequently, thus conduct price analyses regularly.
Buy in bulk
Diaper manufacturers sell many different box sizes of diapers. In general you pay less per diaper when you purchase more. Of course do not buy so much that your child grows out of them before you finish them.
Look for sales and deals
Stores will often have specials and deals on diapers. Sometimes you get a discount if you buy multiple boxes whereas other times you will get a gift card. Look at the weekly ads. If you are buying online, look for coupon codes. Stock up when such deals appear.
Go with cloth diapers
Disposable diapers cost far more than cloth diapers do, according to BabyCenter. This typically holds true even if you pay for a service to clean them. If you feel that it fits in with your lifestyle, consider cloth diapers to save.
If you have a baby, you will need diapers, and a lot of them. The more you save, the more you will have to spend on your precious bundle.
