It seemed like one heckuva a story. A self-made man running for the presidency of the United States Of America. A pizza mogul. Made to order. Straight out of Central Casting. This was the man the "movie" would center around.
Who knew that he would be like Humpty Dumpty and come crashing down. And...yes, all of the King's horses and all of the king's men could not put poor old Herman Cain back together again!
Herman's monster brought him down. He allegedly had sexually harrassed some women. Mr. Cain said it was all a huge misunderstanding. None of it was true! Then the straw that broke the Cain Camel's back hit like a hurricane!
Enter Ginger White. Ms. White claimed she had a 13 year relationship with Herman Cain. Of course the wife had no knowledge of this high infidelity! HC looked like he was ready to pounce on someone or bounce right out of the presidential stakes.
He decided to get out of the race. To the very end Cain claimed he was innocent. Why get out? If it was untrue...why get out?
Mr. Cain was making valid points to his GOP fans. It did not matter that he is African-American. Had he won the nomination he would have scored points in the history arena. He would have been a black man attempting to replace another black man in the White House.
Now it seems Cain will be an interesting footnote in American History. It will fall under the umbrella of "what could have been". What kind of inroads would he have made in the middle class? What numbers would he attract in the Hispanic sector? He did make light of the immigration issue at one point sounding quite mean-spirited.
How would he have done with women? Before the scandals hit him he was poised to be a dark horse in the GOP corral. No pun intended of course!
Will Cain end up working for Fox News?
The Pizza Gladiator is by all accounts out of the arena. Caesar would just chuckle.
Chances are his wife will stand by him.
Maybe he will write a book? He could work on minority recruitment for the Grand Old Party. If the party wants its numbers to grow it would be a great idea. Mr. Cain is an inspiration. Why not use that to his benefit and that of the Republican Party?
