If I could,
I'd make myself into what you want me to be.
If I could,
I'd make you realise the effect you still have on me.
If I could,
I would turn back time and take back the cruel words I said;
If I could,
I'd tell you exactly what you mean to me instead.
If we could,
Would we go back to that day when everything changed?
Would you let me tell you how sorry I am
That I let you walk away?
If we could,
Would we admit that it's pointless to leave so much unsaid?
Would we finally stop avoiding each other
And learn how to communicate instead?
If we could,
Would we, at long last, see
That our love didn't die?
It's only sleeping.

Not knowing that I can, I understand

Feeling the sheer joy

If I could, little one,
I would enfold you with sunshine
If I could
I would create joy in a cup
and fill you up
every morning
