Dobson Ranch is a neighborhood in Mesa, Arizona. It is located to the southwest of downtown Mesa. The boundaries are Alma School Road on the east, Guadalupe Road on the south, Price Freeway on the west and Southern Avenue on the north.  It is a popular neighborhood well located with the Loop 101 and US 60 giving easy access to the entire area. The average income in the neighborhood is $58,000 which is higher than average in Mesa.

Dobson Ranch is a master planned neighborhood which has both gated and  non-gated  communities. There is a neighborhood association with monthly assessment which helps to maintain the common areas. The homes date mostly  from the 1970’s and sell from the low 100,000 to almost $400,000.  There are about 5,000 homes in the neighborhood and about 15,000 residents according to the HOA website. Among the available homes are single family detached, townhouses and condominiums.

The Dobson Ranch Branch of the Mesa Public Library is open 5 days a week, closing on Sunday and Monday. It is open until 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The library offers books, DVDs, CDs , programs for residents of all ages, public computers and WiFi. 

Dobson Ranch Park  has a 17 acre lake which the residents can fish in. It also has a playground, basketball courts and picnic areas. There are also three ramadas,  one is first come first serve and the other two must be rented.

The Dobson Ranch Golf Course is one of the big attractions of this neighborhood. It is an 18 hole, par 72 championship course. Many people consider it the finest public golf course in Arizona. The golf course is located at the center of what was the original Dobson ranch and the Dobson family home is now a restaurant called Dobson’s that is open for breakfast and lunch.

There are several elementary schools that are close to the Dobson Ranch neighborhood.  Franklin at Alma is an alternative public school that offers classes to children in grades K-6. Washington Elementary also offers classes for children in grades K-6. For a private Catholic school education, St. Timothy Academy is also in the neighborhood.

There are several churches that are also located either in or close to the Dobson Ranch neighborhood, St. Catholic Church, Mesa Baptist Church and  St Matthew United Methodist Church.

When residents need to grocery shop, there is an Albertson’s Supermarket on Dobson Road and if they don’t feel like cooking, there are a wide selection of both fast food and chain restaurants located on all the main streets in the neighborhood.

Dobson Ranch is a very popular neighborhood with lots of amenities as well as affordable housing.  It has just about everything that any resident could want.
